Homework

Reading in Year 1 continues to be the main focus for homework. We ask that each child is heard read for 10 minutes each day and a brief comment made in the Reading Journals.

In Year 1 the children practise spelling on a weekly basis following the new National Curriculum guidlines. We regularly check the spelling of the most commonly used words within their everyday work. Each week the children will receive 5 words to learn and will be tested on a Friday.

Currently the Year 1 children use the website Skoolbo to practise the various elements of maths in the new curriculum.
