Home Learning Daily Blog
Friday 3rd April 2020
Good morning and Happy Friday!
Today we come to the end of our second week of home learning! I am sure there have been highs and lows too. I know you are all missing each other and being in school but I also know you are doing things at home which you have never been allowed to do before (like making cardboard Viking swords!) So please remain positive and try to embrace this unique experience. It won't last forever and we will all be back together soon enough!
Please keep helping your parents and remember to say thank you to them today as we come to what would have been the end of our school term! Remember they have been working incredibly hard, some of them teaching you as well as their own jobs!
Take a moment today to say thank you to everyone who has helped you learn over the last two weeks.
I won't be setting the online learning as I have been over the next two weeks however I will be adding an Easter activity booklet over the next couple of days to keep you busy.
Please have a lovely Easter and relax and be ready for the start of our new term!
Thursday 2nd April 2020
Good morning/afternoon, (Sorry it is late, I thought I had pressed save this morning :()
I hope you are all having a great week! Looking at some of the videos and photos I have been sent I am sure you are. Some very impressive things being created and made. I have spent the last couple of days working on a way for me to get some of these cakes and biscuits you keep 'offering' I will let you know in time! I am sure you would hate for me to be missing out :)
The weather looks like it is going to improve over the next couple of days so make sure you get yourself out in your gardens. I challenge you to invent a new game it can be really complicated or simple. Write down the rules and send them in! I look forward to seeing them.
Let our light shine even at home. Fill us with joy and good spirit. Stay and be with us always.
And because you know I love a quote.... "A day without laughter, is a day wasted" so smile, laugh and have fun.
Enjoy the rest of your day!
Wednesday 1st April 2020
Good morning, Happy April!
I am really enjoying the effort and creativity you are putting into this weeks science task of how you change as you get older. I am particularly impressed with the photos of you as old people using an app, very clever! This could be a good game of guess who when we get back to school!
This week at school would have been our build up to the important festival of Easter so please take a few minutes this week to remind yourself of the story. Mrs Wilce has added some activities to the Class Pages homepage for you to look at too.
Thank you lord, for our chances in life, our food, friends and family. May we respect them and enjoy them always.
I have noticed a fantastic increase in the number of you using TT Rockstars this week, remember to remind your friends too! I want to set up a challenge with year 6 but at the minute we don't have enough people taking part daily :(
I read yesterday that "what we learn with a smile we remember forever!" so keep smiling and keep learning everyone!
Tuesday 31st March 2020
Wow! You guys love a challenge, you are absolutely flying on Spelling Frame, MyMaths and TT Rockstars this week! Keep it up.
I am still working through all the work I received on Friday! If you have not had your feedback yet it will be there soon I promise! I have already started to have some work from this week sent through to me. Including some amazing baby photos! I am sure we can find somewhere to display these when we get back to school.
Some amazing stories have been sent to me of you showing outstanding kindness and generosity to others in your family and your community. I just wanted to say how proud I am of all of you at this time. Please keep them coming in!
Dear Heavenly Father, Give us power to encourage others. Let us look up to you and respect you.
A little quote that I think sums up exactly what you are all doing at the moment. "Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible."
Have a great day!
Monday 30th March 2020
Hello and welcome to week two of our home learning! I hope you feel like you are getting better at this because I know I do. I have had so much (and I really mean so much) work sent into me over the last week. I am working my hardest to reply to every email over the next few days, so please keep a look out.
Please keep the work coming in and also the other lovely things you are doing. You even inspired me to make a cake this weekend! I would have shared it with you all but you know, it was delicious and we are not at school. Maybe next time hey!
Please keep up with the Spelling Frame, My Maths and TT Rockstars this week. I challenge you to get every member of our class to complete the daily challenge set on each. Year 6 had the most completed last week and Mr F will be very happy about that! So please rise to the challenge this week! Message your friends check they have done it! We can do this!
Today's prayer for that quiet moment.
Give us strength to be kind, happy and thoughtful. Let us be grateful for our life savers.
Please keep the prayers coming in to me this week.
Finally, keep reading, because "The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you'll go."
Have a great Monday everyone!
Friday 27th March 2020
Happy Friday everyone! What a lovely day it is again! I have had a lot more lovely photos of you all outside please keep enjoying yourself (as well as working very hard, of course)
I am looking forward to reading your book reviews and stories today, please send them to me when they are finished :) I need something to read this weekend!
I have had some more prayers sent in to me, so thank you very much and keep them coming.
Today's prayer is:
Please help us to think about the things we are doing right now. Please guide us to make the right decisions.
Many of you may have been involved in or seen the clap for the NHS last night! I was amazed with some of the things I saw, if anyone has any stories of this please let me know. I think at times like this it is really important that we think about these amazing people as well as other people who are helping our country to continue. I know you will be saying thank you in your own way!
I hope you have a fantastic Friday and enjoy a sunny weekend and remember "Be brave, be creative, be kind, be thankful, be happy, be YOU!"
Thursday 26th March 2020
I can't believe some of the amazing things you are getting up to, I have had photos of you, making cakes, playing in the garden, walking dogs, looking at old helicopters and following Jo Wicks. Please keep up the activities they look like so much fun!
I am really enjoying reading the work you are sending in to me, some of it is outstanding! Please keep up with the online learning too.
Does anyone have an idea for a challenge everyone could try to complete while they are at home? I could be an activity which everyone could take part in at home. Share your ideas with me if you have any.
Today's prayer, please take a moment of quite.
Dear Father, Help us to protect each other, Let us value our friends and family. Amen.
Have a lovely day today, and remember "If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours"
Wednesday 25th March 2020
Another amazing day yesterday, with so much work completed both online and sent in to me! Thank you, it is really nice for me to see what you are up to!
I have been directed to a link to Mr Kirlands YouTube channel where he is doing a daily music video. It is definitely worth a look! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwS9HVNN9Gc&feature=youtu.be
Today we have a birthday!!!! So if we could all sing happy birthday in our own homes at 3:30, I am sure she will hear us! I hope you have a fantastic day!
I have had the first prayer sent to me, (Thank you, keep them coming) please take a moment when you can today.
"Dear Lord, Please give us strength to defeat, let us celebrate in happy times, and praise you in name. Amen"
Finally I know this is a tough time for everyone, and many of you will now be staying in your homes, but I was reading yesterday and I came across this and thought I would share it with you. “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” I know how creative you all are and I have no doubt you can still enjoy yourselves!
Enjoy your day! Bye Bye!
Mardi 24 Mars 2020
Bonjour et bienvenue. I thought as we normally have French on a Tuesday and we don't want to disappoint Mrs Deip I would write some of today's message in French :)
I was overwhelmed by the number of emails I received yesterday showing me your fantastique work and telling me all about the activities you have done, please keep them coming!
Don't forget Jo Wicks is on again this morning at 9am, my jambes are still burning from yesterday's workout! Mr Coyne will have to raise his game now!!
If you have anything you would like me to share in tomorrow's message please send them to me!
A wise French woman once said to me "dans un monde plein de pigeons, être un flamant rose!" and I'm sure you all agree.
Passez une bonne journee

Today is our first day learning and working from home and I am sure it feels very strange for everyone! (including your parents) I am very much looking forward to watching the first Jo Wicks PE lesson this morning (https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1) at 9:00, I hope you are too.
On our class page you will find a selection of daily learning activities and your MyMaths, Spelling Frame and TT Rockstars challenges have gone live this morning (Someone has already started!! Very early start to the day!)
Good luck with your work today, I very much look forward to seeing how well you get on. Remember we said this is our chance to show our parents just how amazing we are! And sometimes if things are hard and we struggle, don't forget ''Mistakes are proof that you are trying''
Smile and have a lovely day everyone!
