Collective Worship

Collective Worship is an important, cherished and integral part of every day at St Mary & St John.  Pupils and staff celebrate Collective Worship together, as a class, as a Key Stage, in Houses and as a whole school.

We start each week with a Monday morning service in our beautiful church adjacent to the school, St John The Baptist. Worship is led by the Headteacher with our Rector, Revd. Pippa,  Revd. John or Revd. Jenny.  All major Christian festivals are also celebrated in church and you are most welcome to join us.

Children are invited to light the candle and lead the school in saying our 'Candle Prayer' to begin our worship.

The 'Wildfire Crew' of upper KS2 pupils help to plan and lead Collective Worship.

Candle Prayer

Loving Lord,

As we light this candle, we ask you to guide us through our lives.

Let the fruit of the spirit shine in all that we do.

We pray for our Church, our community, family and friends.

We ask that your light will shine brightly in us, so we can pass your light on to others.

Amen.
