LOCKDOWN BOOK CLUB
Over the next 4 weeks I will be holding a ‘Teams’ Book Club for children in Year 3, 4 and 5.
I have sourced an e-book which has a PPT and a video and intend to discuss a chapter a week.
You don’t need to be able to read the chapter yourself, you can ask a parent or sibling to help but it is essential you do know what the chapter is about before the meeting. It would help if you had the text available for you to refer back to but I will have a copy on screen for us all to see, fingers crossed!
The book is called ‘Firebird’ and is a traditional tale written especially for Twinkl. A PDF copy is atatched for you to read.
Each week we will share our thoughts and ideas about what has happened, the authors use of language and how the chapter has made us feel. There will be opportunities to ask and answer questions we might come up with and so I would recommend that, if you are going to join us, you make notes on the chapter as you might do your usual reading book. You can use your reading record for this and your comments will count towards your 5 for a house point! This is a very informal reading groups and is purely for pleasure. If you just want to read the chapter, join in and just listen you are more than welcome, although I don’t want to talk to myself!
The book will be available on my Year 3 class web page from Monday morning and the Teams meeting will be set up every Monday.
I am very much looking forward to seeing you all.
