St Mary & St John Church of England V.A. Primary School

North Luffenham, Rutland

School Transport

To alleviate traffic in the village, we encourage pupils to use the school bus, which currently picks up and drops off pupils in South Luffenham, Morcott and Barrowden.  To apply for a free bus pass, please contact Rutland Council's School Transport Department.

Taxis transport children from other villages, providing St Mary & St John is their nearest available church school.

We encourage a healthy lifestyle and are happy for children to come to school on their bikes and scooters and to leave them in the bike racks during the day.

We also ask parents to park responsibly in the village and walk down the lane with their children to the school.

Daily Routine: The school bus is met at the top of the lane in the mornings by a member of staff. During the day, the Year 6 bus monitor checks with each pupil whether they are returning home on the bus/taxi. Any doubts or queries are dealt with by Mrs Lister who contacts parents . The children, after a roll call, are escorted by staff to their respective taxi or bus at the end of the  school day.
